Project: Border Buddy Colouring Page

Border Buddy is the mascot for the city of Lloydminster. For Canada Day in 2021, the City asked us to create a kids’ colouring page that could be distributed for an online contest.
Our artist sketched an image of Border Buddy holding a Canada flag, walking across a park bridge that’s very familiar to long-time Lloydminster residents.
The original sketch also included an amphitheatre on the top left and its adjacent hillside on the right. Ultimately those elements were removed at the client’s request, as they opted for a simpler background that would be easier to colour for young children.
Once the pencils were approved, the pages were inked and sent off for final approval, which was gained quickly.
Our artist has a great deal of personal experience with hand-drawn artwork, and comics in particular, so this project was a perfect fit!
